A humorous, moving and timely play that draws inspiration from a series of true stories. “The Ticking Clock” team interviewed and surveyed over 150 women. Those interviews and surveys were the inspiration for this play by Jody Gehrman where each character reflects upon the impact her own biological clock has had on her life’s choices.

Description:

The daytime soap’s ratings aren’t as high as they once were and executives have determined it’s time for a change. Featuring a cast of quirky characters, the comedy plays out as the cast and crew of “The Promising Dawn” confront the final scene.

The inspiration for the new stage comedy “The Final Scene” comes directly from playwright Gene Abravaya’s personal experience working during the late 1970s on the New York City television set of a popular daytime soap opera.
