Wine Spectrum owner Glenn Siegel debuts
his new rock opera at 6th Street Playhouse
SANTA ROSA, CA – He may be the owner and president of Wine Spectrum located in Santa Rosa’s Historic Railroad Square, but for Glenn Siegel of Sebastopol, music remains his first passion.
A guitarist, singer and composer, Siegel has written more than two hundred songs. For the last three years Siegel has concentrated his musical efforts on “Great War Chronicle,” a rock opera set during World War I.
Siegel’s dream of seeing the musical performed for an audience will be realized Aug. 19 to Aug. 28, 2011 when the 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa presents a workshop production of “Great War Chronicle” in its studio theater.
“This was an unexpected work of spontaneous songwriting that erupted over a six-week period,” said Siegel. ”When I realized what was happening, I got caught up in it. I was intrigued by the era and was inspired and excited to tell a classic story in a mixed genre format. Hence the modern music.”
