“Tartuffe” By Jean Baptiste Moliere A French classic that shines a remarkable reflection on our modern times, Moliere’s most successful comedy “Tartuffe” (first performed in 1664) still holds up with its satirical attacks on religious and social hypocrisy. Tartuffe, a con artist who passes himself off as a holy man and wins the good graces of wealthy Orgon. Tartuffe is welcomed into Orgon’s home and offered his daughter’s hand in marriage. Some in the household realize Tartuffe is a pious imposter as he attempts to woo Orgon’s daughter and wife. The question is, can Tartuffe be exposed before he cons the family into giving over their fortune and dignity? Directed by Sheri Lee Miller
