Description: U.S. economist & social philosopher Thorstein Veblen’s book “Theory of the Leisure Class” and it’s controversial economic theories is the basis for “The Price of Everything,” a musical vaudeville romp featuring a large ensemble cast and musical numbers including “Greed is Good,” “We’re Broke,” “Things Can Change” and “The Price of Everything.”
This melodrama-within-a-musical demonstrates Veblen’s controversial thesis when he seeks to have theories sung and played out in a musical romp with unsuspecting actors who need a job. Featuring book and lyrics by Charles Leipart and music by Richard B. Evans, the composer of the musical version of “Enchanted April” and the librettist of “Lady on a Carousel,” an original musical about Marilyn Monroe.
Directed by Nancy Prebalich
