Parking Tips
To make parking easier and more convenient for drivers, the City of Santa Rosa has recently made changes to parking rates, establishing premium parking and value parking zones. Premium parking zones, located in the areas of highest demand downtown, have a 3 hour time limit and cost $1.50/hr. Value parking zones offer lower hourly rates and longer time limits.
You can now use your smart phone to pay for parking. The Passport App allows users to pay for metered parking, monitor how much time is left on the meter, receive alerts before time expires, extend time remotely, and view all parking history. Some Railroad Square businesses even offer free validation using this system. Download the app.
If you are driving a RV, there is RV parking at the Railroad Square Welcome Center. There you can find knowledgeable staff who can help you find fun and interesting activities throughout Santa Rosa.
If you are driving an electric car, Lot 14 shown in the map is conveniently close to Railroad Square and has an electric charging station.
SMART
The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) has made Railroad Square easily accessible from Southern Sonoma County and Marin. This new rail system is convenient, fast, and fully ADA compliant. Bikes are also welcome on the train. See train schedules here.
Bicycling
With the passenger rail and pedestrian-bicycle pathway, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART), Railroad Square is easy to cycle to. There are bike lockers, operated by Bike Link, where you can safely leave your bike while you explore Santa Rosa. There are bike hooks on each train car for bike storage during your ride.
Ride Services
Uber, Lyft, and Taxi services are available to get you to and from Railroad Square.
